Click the SuperScan button on the Tools toolbar or select SuperScan on the Tools menu to open (or close) the SuperScan window.

You can open or close the SuperScan window at any time. The current scan results will remain active in the window at all times until you either run a different scan or exit Cycle Trends. Please note that if the SuperScan window is open when you exit Cycle Trends it will also be open when you run Cycle Trends again.

You can also close the window by clicking on the X on the bottom-left corner of the window (the bottom of the vertical title bar).

The SuperScan window has fields for selecting your Data Source, Data Folder, and the Signals to display.

If this is the first time you are running a SuperScan you will need to select the correct Data Source and Data Folder before you will be able to start the scan.

Depending on the data service you are using select either MetaStock Data or ShareNet ASCII Data in the Data Source drop-down box. (ShareNet ASCII Data is only available in South Africa)

Then click the Folder button on the right-hand side of the Data Folder box to browse for the correct Data Folder. If you are using ShareNet ASCII Data the correct Data Folder will be a folder called sndata.

If you are using MetaStock Data the correct Data Folder will depend on your data provider. Sharenet store their MetaStock data in a folder called msd, PDSNet in a folder called Equis, and Paritech in a folder called shares. For other data providers please check with your data provider for the correct folder name.

Sharenet use two sub-folders for their MetaStock data, namely JSE and OTHER. PDSNet use a few sub-folders such as FINANCE, INDUST, MINING, etc. Paritech use Lse_Dom for LSE securities, Au-ASX for Australian securities, USA for US securities, WCSP for world indices, etc.

You can select a specific sub-folder to scan or you can select the main folder to scan all sub-folders, however scanning all sub-folders will take a lot longer to complete than scanning one individual sub-folder.
